My Review of The Mama Natural Week to Week Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth

My review of Mama Natural's guide to pregnancy and childbirth | how to have a natural childbirthIt’s finally here! I have been patiently waiting for months to get my hands on a copy of The Mama Natural Week to Week Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth! Honestly, a little part of me wanted to plan my next baby around the launch date for this book, which was April 25th, 2017.

Why would I be so excited about a book?

During my first pregnancy, I spent hours wasted on the internet trying to find answers, tips, and guidance from a natural perspective! I was tired of medications being offered to me constantly, and I wanted other options. Thankfully, I found Mama Natural’s YouTube channel talking about natural pregnancy symptom relief, labor preparation, and childbirth. I found encouragement, advice, and positivity. “Finally”, I thought! And since then, has been my resource for all things natural parenting, pregnancy, and childbirth.

In fact, her positive birth stories series and natural birth advice was one of the biggest driving forces in my own unmedicated labor and delivery. It was hard, but it was beautiful. It was one of the most magical nights of my life.

So, you can imagine how excited I was to find out about Genevieve’s (Mama Natural) new book venture. Genevieve has revolutionized the “pregnancy guide” with her book in a fun, easy to read format that is packed full of everything you will need for your pregnancy and childbirth, the natural way. One of my favorite features of this book is that it is really written for everyone. You don’t have to plan to give birth naked in a field to enjoy this book. Genevieve has tips for mamas on every step of their natural journey, including how to have a gentle C-section. Every single mama can benefit from this book.

She gives real information as to why you would want a more natural pregnancy and childbirth in the first place, and she helps you achieve your goals step by step. The book is well referenced, and it’s illustrations are beautiful! This is the only book you will need for your pregnancy journey. I will be gifting this book to all newly pregnant mothers, as well as recommending it to anyone looking to have a more natural childbirth experience. I wholeheartedly give my stamp of approval! My review of The Mama Natural Week to Week Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth

Favorite features include:

  • Positive affirmations every week
  • Baby development specific recipes weekly
  • Natural ways to handle the tough parts of pregnancy
  • How to deal when things don’t go as planned
  • The labor playbook–aaamazing!

This is more than just a pregnancy guide! This book is part of a cause--a movement to give the childbirth experience back to mothers. I have heard too many stories of women being traumatized for years by what happened to them during their childbirth. It doesn’t have to be like that. Yes, childbirth may be the hardest thing you ever do, but it can also be the most empowering thing you do. Women were meant for this; our bodies were designed to carry children and give birth to them. We can change how childbirth is viewed–not as a medical condition but as a beautiful, natural process. All we need is a dream, passionate mothers, and of course Mama Natural’s book!
